Chalood Nimsamer’s Daughter was inspired by the deep love and bond he shared with his daughter.
Created in the late 1980s, it reflects a period when Chalood often portrayed his daughter in ornate pavilions or glass houses, drawing from traditional Thai architecture and using alternating dots to create rhythm and movement.
The work features an elegant style of traditional Thai painting, seen in the flowing fabric and delicately rendered hands and feet. Regarded as one of Chalood’s notable pieces from this period, this work uniquely expresses paternal affection through a distinctive artistic voice.
