Marco Z. Piazza

b. in Italy, 1973.

forester by profession and living in Bangkok since 2019, Marco Z. Piazza believes in creativity in the broad sense. Amateur woodworker and DIYer has started to experiment with artistic pieces combining wood and other mediums. RIVERS is a concept project dedicated to the Chao Phraya river as an iconic feature of Bangkok.

As a professional forester, Marco Z. Piazza brings a deep understanding of nature’s systems and materials into his artistic practice. This perspective allows him to explore the connection between natural elements and urban life—most vividly embodied in the Chao Phraya River. Through RIVERS, a conceptual project consisting of four pieces—GENESI, ORO, SANGUE, and ACQUA—Marco presents a foreigner’s heartfelt homage to what he sees as the lifeblood of Bangkok. Each piece reflects a different facet of the river: its origin, its richness, its vitality, and its constant flow. Using wood, a medium rooted in his forestry background, he combines craftsmanship and creativity to express how the Chao Phraya is more than just a waterway—it is a symbol of history, culture, and the soul of the city he has called home since 2019.
