SIAM Takashimaya proudly presents My Sky, a solo exhibition by Kyoko Abe, a Japanese multimedia artist whose poetic sensibilities and cross-cultural vision have made her a distinct voice in Bangkok’s art scene. Known for her ability to weave together Japanese minimalism with Thai cultural narratives, Kyoko’s work is as much a visual experience as it is a meditative journey.

Currently based in Bangkok, and represented by Palette Artspace, Kyoko gained early acclaim through the Pentel × Kyoko Abe Thai Culture Project, where she delicately illustrated the emotional bridges between two cultures. Her style—combining fine ink work, soft lines, and rhythmic space—is subtle yet profound, always inviting the viewer into a quiet moment of reflection.

In My Sky, Kyoko explores the calm and continuity of everyday life, filtered through the vastness of nature. Her artist statement encapsulates the mood of the exhibition:

“Every day, many things happen;
there are moments of great happiness and moments of sadness.
Still, every day, the morning comes.
Many birds dance in the vast sky, flying toward something.

I look up and see my sky.
The big, blue sky stretches endlessly.
Today, the weather is nice too.”

Through this series, Kyoko invites viewers to pause and reconnect with the emotional rhythms of daily life—offering a serene yet stirring dialogue between human sentiment and the natural world. In her signature style, she renders skies not just as scenery, but as metaphor: for freedom, hope, and inner weather.
